EFFECT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION AND TRAINING ON UNEMPLOYMENT IN SOME SELECTED SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE ENTERPRISES IN ADO-EKITI METROPOLIS, EKITI STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract
The study examined the effect of entrepreneurship education and training on Unemployment in some selected Small and Medium Enterprises in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. The population of the study comprised 257 SMEs operators from seven selected SMEs in Ado-Ekiti metropolis.
One hundred and sixty SMEs operators were used as sample size. Data were obtained from the sample of 153 respondents, out of a population of 160 SMEs operators in Ado-Ekiti metropolis, Ekiti state using stratified sampling techniques. Multiple regression method of analysis. The result showed a moderate and positive relationship between entrepreneurship education and training on unemployment in Ado Ekiti metropolis. The research concluded that training and education should involves a process of human capacities building through formal and or informal training inculcating in the entrepreneur basic skills such as financial skills, technical skills, creative skills, managerial skills, intellectual skills, marketing skills, communication skills and technological skillsKeywords
